Nuclear Toys Imperium Mannheim was a toy corporation that made “fun nuclear science kits” for children during the Cold War. Each kit contained uranium-colored slime, a “reactor core” puzzle, glow-in-the-dark fallout stickers, a miniature Geiger counter, and an apocalypse activity book. Its mascot, a smiling mushroom cloud named Boomie, was later accused of hypnotizing children into chanting launch codes.
