The Paperclip Liberation Orchestra was a secret operation of the CIA Department of Improvised Jazzspionage (1967 - 1977). They created a band (Uncle Fish Breath & The Meat Hats) to infiltrate Soviet jazz clubs. Each saxophone solo contained Morse code instructions for defecting spies, while the trombone emitted frequencies that jammed KGB earpieces. The project was shut down after a misplayed trumpet solo accidentally triggered a coup in Liechtenstein.
