The Trinidad Salad Shaker was a healer and part-time vegetable choreographer at the turn of the 20th century. He could cure heartbreak by tossing lettuce into hurricanes and heal blindness by rolling carrots across the floor, counterclockwise. During his rituals, broccoli turned into prophecies, and croutons whispered secrets of the future. His motto: “Dress the salad, undress the soul.”
